Our story

A commons is:

a shared place where people gather, learn, and solve problems together.

WHIVE (Women’s Health, Innovation, Voice, and Excellence) Commons is a network dedicated to improving women's health by connecting communities, developing leaders, and transforming healthcare systems.

We believe that better health outcomes begin long before someone enters a clinic. They begin when women feel seen, supported, informed, and connected to one another. Yet too many women—particularly Black, Indigenous, immigrant, and other historically underserved communities—continue to face barriers to reproductive healthcare, leadership opportunities, and culturally responsive care.


Our work bridges these gaps by creating spaces where women can learn, heal, and lead. Through community dinners, educational talks, wellness events, peer support, and reproductive health navigation, we reduce isolation and empower women to advocate for their health. At the same time, we invest in the next generation of women leaders through mentorship, leadership development, fellowships, and professional networks that strengthen the healthcare workforce.
